WHAT IS A TRANSPARENT LACE?

Transparent lace is the regular lace in a transparent color. There are four different regular lace colors, including dark brown, medium brown, light brown and transparent. It is important to choose the right color to better match one’s skin tone. See photo grid below for reference.

As we mentioned above, HD lace is a new name for Swiss lace. The lace is thinner and more see-through, and transparent lace is the regular lace that features a transparent color like the above photo. 

We often recommend transparent lace to women with light skin tones, but recently we found that transparent color lace can melt into any skin tone after bleaching the hair knots and gluing down the hairline. Of course, you can avoid the latter by choosing the HD Lace.

Is HD Lace Durable?

In regards to quality, HD lace is the thinner of the two. However, it is durable and comparatively soft. It also has the most delicate base, which is perfect for use within the front, since it is essentially invisible and doesn’t show. But please handle with extreme caution. Because HD Lace is so thin, the lace is super easy to rip. Do not pull, tug or continuously brush the hair on these HD Lace frontals/closures.

How to Care for HD Lace Wigs?

Before you begin washing the HD lace wigs, make sure all glue residues have been removed. Use a wig comb and a wide-tooth comb to brush curly hair. Gently brush hairs from the bottom to minimize shedding.

Use lukewarm or cold water to wash your HD lace wig. Apply hair conditioner but please remember not to add conditioner on the root of the wig. Leave it for 3-4 minutes, then continue rinsing with water. Pat dry the wig with a clean towel. Lastly, put your wig on a stand or mannequin head and let the hair air dry. 

To choose the right lace type for your wig, read the following list: 

• For durability, choose Normal Swiss Lace or Clear Lace.
• If you have light skin, choose Transparent Lace, HD Lace, or Clear Lace.
• If you have dark skin, choose Brown Swiss lace, HD lace, Clear Lace.
• For an effortless skin melt and a natural-looking result, choose HD Lace or Clear Lace.
• To save money, choose Normal Swiss Lace in Transparent Lace or Brown Lace that matches your skin tone.
